Surgical Procedures

Soft Tissue & Orthopedic Procedures

Surgeries we offer include:

  • Spays and neuters
  • Mass removals
  • Foreign body removals
  • Basic eye surgeries
  • Exploratory surgery
  • Abdominal surgery
  • Cystotomies (bladder surgery)
  • ACL repairs
  • And more

For more complex procedures such as fracture repairs, hip dysplasia corrections, and patella luxation repairs, your pet will first be examined.

Anesthesia Safety

We are committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of your pet during surgical procedures. To achieve this, we implement the following protocols:

  • Placing an IV catheter to maintain hydration, regulate blood pressure, and administer medications efficiently.
  • Comprehensive monitoring equipment to track vital signs such as heart rate, respiration, temperature, oxygen levels, and carbon dioxide.
  • A dedicated surgical technician who monitors your pet throughout surgery and recovery.
  • Pain relief is provided before, during, and after surgery to minimize discomfort.

Post-Surgical Care

Following surgery, your pet will need rest and care for a smooth recovery. While we’ll provide specific post-op instructions, here are general guidelines to minimize stress and discomfort:

  • Recovery from Anesthesia: Keep your pet in a quiet, confined space, away from other pets, as they may be groggy.
  • Hydration and Nutrition: Provide fresh water and half the amount of regular meals. A decreased appetite in the first 24 hours is normal.
  • Pain Management: Follow the prescribed pain medication instructions. Do not use human pain relievers.
  • Incision Monitoring: Check the surgical site for signs of infection or irritation. Contact us if you have concerns.
  • Activity Restrictions: Limit activity for the first 10 days or as directed to avoid strain on the surgical site.
  • Additional Support: Ask your veterinarian about integrative pain management options like laser therapy or acupuncture.
